Caesar Cipher

The Caesar cipher is one of the simplest and most widely known encryption techniques. It shifts each letter by a fixed number of positions in the alphabet.

How it works:

  • Each letter in the plaintext is shifted by a fixed number of positions
  • For example, with a shift of 3: A→D, B→E, C→F, etc.
  • The shift wraps around: X→A, Y→B, Z→C (with shift 3)
  • Non-alphabetic characters remain unchanged
